A sticker should not advertise your car to thieves
We know what a QR code on a modified car looks like to the wrong person. Photographs show your car as it is, plate and all — the same as any post, any meet, any car park. What we will not do is add to it: your location stays a region and never an address, and nothing here asks for your home address.

Questions
What happens if I change the page?
Nothing, as far as the sticker is concerned. The code points at a record we control, not at the page address, so you can rename the page, redesign it or rebuild the car completely and the same sticker keeps working.
What if the sticker gets damaged or stolen?
Turn it off from your account and order a replacement. The old code stops working immediately and shows a neutral page — it will not point at your car.
Is this an official vehicle record?
No. DRIVE ID is not connected to the DVLA and is not a substitute for your V5C, MOT or insurance documents. It is a record you keep and control.
Do people need an app to scan it?
No. Any phone camera opens it. No app, no account, no sign-up for whoever is looking at your car.
What happens when I sell the car?
You generate a transfer code and give it to the buyer with the paperwork. They enter it and the page becomes theirs, with the photographs, specification and public build history already on it — and the sticker on the car starts pointing at their version. Your private notes are deleted rather than handed over, and your social links come off. This is control of the page, not legal ownership: the V5C process is unchanged and DRIVE ID is not connected to the DVLA.
